Originally taught by Pipe Major Willie Fulton in 1972, Piper I Willox is a long established ambassador of the pipes. His roles continue to include solo piping, Pipe Major of The St Andrews Pipeband of Cheltenham (which he co-founded in 1983), along with being bagpipe tutor to many happy pupils. Allied to this he is a bagpipe ( Highland , Galician, Lowland and Northumbrian) and highland dress lecturer to various Probus and WI groups ! |

Bagpiping has taken Piper I Willox all over the world - including Norway , Germany , France , Spain, Belgium, New Zealand, Australia and Kuala Lumpur. A renowned solo and band player, he has performed with the London Gala Orchestra as soloist, as well as several other choirs and orchestras in Gloucestershire. He has appeared on BBC Radio Wales and Gloucester, on ITV's 'Revealing Secrets', and performed for the Queen twice - once in Ankara 1971/2 and then again at the 150th anniversary of the Cheltenham Ladies College in April 2004. |

Piper I Willox has been teaching bagpipes continuously since 1974, with individual pupils in Hong Kong, Turkey and the UK. He currently teaches at various local colleges in and around Cheltenham. His experience as a former President of the Cheltenham Scottish Society also enables him to set up and run Burns Suppers and St Andrews Dinners. He can assist in the organizing, whilst also performing and acting as Master of Ceremonies. |
